A short drive from Somewhere in Time Bed and Breakfast Inn is Boydton, the county seat of Mecklenburg County, Virginia. While there you can visit the historic Boyd Tavern, circa 1790 or take an historic walking tour.
In nearby South Hill, Virginia you may visit the Virginia S. Evans Doll Museum or the South Hill Model Railroad Museum both located at the South Hill Chamber of Commerce. While in South Hill, discover the lifestyles of Virginia’s tobacco farm family circa 1900 at the Tobacco Farm Life Museum of Virginia.
During your visit to nearby Clarksville, Virginia, you can learn about the history of some of Mecklenburg County’s earliest settlers at Prestwould Plantation and at the Clarksville Regional Museum or enjoy a walking tour of 62 historic buildings on the Clarksville Historic Walking Tour in Virginia’s only lakeside town.
A short drive away is Halifax County and South Boston where you can visit the L. E. Coleman African-American Museum.
The Prizery in South Boston is a performing arts theater with several events each month.
